The Safety and Health Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring workplace safety and compliance with OSH standards. He is responsible for overseeing and implementing safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with OSH regulations. 

Will be assisting the HOD in :- 

OSH Compliance:

  • Ensure strict adherence to OSH regulations and standards.
  • Stay updated on any changes to OSH requirements and implement necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.

Risk Assessment and Management:

  • Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards in the workplace.
  • Develop and implement risk management plans to mitigate or eliminate identified risks.

Training and Education:

  • Provide OSH-compliant training to employees, covering topics such as hazard communication, emergency response, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Accident Investigation and Reporting:

  • Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, or near-misses to determine root causes.
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive reports to management and regulatory authorities as required by OSHA.

Safety Inspections:

  • Perform regular inspections to ensure compliance with OSH standards.
  • Identify and address any safety violations, providing recommendations for corrective actions.

Development of Safety Policies:

  • Participate in the development and updating of safety policies and procedures in line with OSH regulations.
  • Ensure employees are aware of and comply with safety policies.

Emergency Response Planning:

  • Develop and update emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures and first aid protocols, in accordance with OSH requirements.
  • Coordinate and conduct regular emergency response drills.

Recordkeeping:

  • Maintain accurate records related to safety training, inspections, incidents, and corrective actions.
  • Ensure documentation complies with OSH recordkeeping standards.

Job Requirements :-

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Certified Health and Safety Officer is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Safety & Health regulations and standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fresh graduated are encouraged to apply.
  • Must be willing and able to travel when required ( within Malaysia) .
  • Fluency in Mandarin is preferred for candidates as the role involves interactions with Mandarin-speaking clients.
